First time mapper and forum user here, so apologies for any mistakes.
Recently, the city of Surrey (in BC) added some expansions and changes to cycle tracks in late 2025. This includes the 100 Ave cycle track expansion (which I’m trying to slowly finish up); the 150th Street multiuse pathway (near Guildford Mall); the 140th Street multiuse pathway & cycle tracks; and new local bikeway signage. As a local I can bike to many of these areas, but it’s a lot to keep track of! Any tips or other peeps to help update these new bikeways would be greatly appreciated.
P.S: here is the link to the city’s website on cycling, which currently includes the changes they made.
One tip is to simply tag cycleway:both=track on the main roadway. Much faster than drawing a separate way and just as informative for most uses (especially when the tracks are alongside the road and one-way in the traffic direction, as in your changes).
Thats very true, I was just erring on the side of caution as there was a note on the wiki that cycleways should be separate from the road (a new way) if there is a clear separation between the road and the lane (per here), plus the fact that the new cycle track is level with the sidewalk. I will keep that in mind for other areas though!
