I want to draw people’s attention to a discussion page on the wiki to do with multiple way tagging - the ability to split a single way into a number of parallel features, such as the actual lanes in a road, the sidewalk, cycle lane, hedge, ditch or whatever.
There are a number of proposals that seem to have gone quiet, but I think it’s an important update to OSM if it can be made to work - I look at the satnavs with actual lane markings and think that we should be able to do this too.
