Laut den Auswahlkriterien für Moderator:innen (in Englisch) sind die Community-Mitglieder sind mindestens einmal jährlich aufgefordert, mit und über das Kategorie-Moderattions-Team @mods-switzerland zu diskutieren, um mitzuteilen, wie diese im zurückliegenden Jahr ihren Job gemacht haben, ob sie diesen weiter machen sollen oder ob Änderungen vorgeschlagen werden.
Somit lade ich hier ein, genau das während den nächsten ca. 7 Tage zu diskutieren.
Also, diskutiert mit, sprecht Dinge an und teilt mit, wie wir drei das so machen.
Wenn nicht direkt in diesem Diskussonsstrang, dann gerne auch per direkte Nachricht an @mods-switzerland oder an einzelne Personen.

Those that interest me
The OSM Wiki is not the OSM canon, there are just many things written down there at a certain time. Often my personal perspectives align with documented practices, be it on the OSM Wiki or otherwise.
There’s no real “fostering of discussions” in the forum here. In my opinion it’s more “reacting on what’s being posted/written”.
Ich verstehe mottigers "Frage” so dass er meint ob davon ausgegangen wird dass diejenigen die nichts sagen mit eurer Arbeit zufrieden sind.
Ich hoffe dass es so ist und niemand im Stillen vor sich hin grollt - wer es, aus oft verständlichen Gründen, nicht öffentlich machen will kann - und sollte es in meinen Augen auch - ja eine direkte Nachricht schreiben.
Ich habe euch im letzten Jahr nicht als Moderatoren wahrgenommen sondern als sehr engagierte und (wie andere auch) hilfsbereite “Gesprächspartner”.
Von daher: Merci für euren Einsatz und auf ein hoffentlich entspanntes nächstes Jahr.
Genau das ist die Quintessenz dieses jährlichen Checks; sind wir Moderatoren (leider keine Moderatorinnen) noch zufrieden und ist die “moderierte” Community noch zufrieden.
Ich habe keine Rückmeldungen auf anderen Kanälen erhalten.
Are you hinting on something, or do you think we can close the ‘health check’ here, even without direct answer from @das-g?
As I have said above, I see the role of the moderators not in “fostering” discussions, but in taking care that any discussions that arise here conform to our community guidelines.
Still rather inexperienced, because there wasn’t yet a lot for us to do. (Which per-se is good, I guess.)
Those where I can contribute knowledge or interesting perspectives, as well as those where I can learn something new myself. (Though that is just as a forum participant, independent of my role a as a moderator.)
I haven’t often experienced those to be opposites in need to be balanced. Where my own personal perspective isn’t aligned with documented practices it is usually orthogonal, thus contributing (or so I hope) a new, maybe enlightening point of view.
I’m not quite sure I understand that question. What do you mean by “possible solutions”? Solutions to what? To problems being discussed? Providing solutions to those isn’t the role of moderators, specifically. To problems in the manner in which things are discussed? Tackling such problems is indeed part of the moderators’ role, but I doubt moderators can by themselves “solve” them.
Presumably mappers participating in the forum seek to solve some problem.
Such problems can have several possible solutions.
And each solution has different aspects and possible issues which such aspects.
How do you plan to help moderating such discussions, and foster discussions of individual aspects?
Or do you think we should just either like and dislike themes and open or close discussions based on that? Would have a example for this?
