Modelling Queensland Railways between Warwick & Wallengarra

Wondering if anyone here can point me towards mapping railway infrastructure particularly the line mentioned above. I’m hoping to create a series of modules covering the layout of towns along the line, with each of the stations as a module including buildings, sidings and the through as well as the key features of the town.

I have not very clear memories of doing a similar project about 15 years ago, to help me understand the world if my ancestors in England from 1600 to 1900.

It’s already mapped, together with all the towns, albeit to different degrees of completeness? OpenStreetMap , although there’s no relation covering the whole thing, which surprises me a bit?

It now stops at Ballandean though, OpenStreetMap as the line south of there was destroyed in the bushfires several years ago

Were you actually talking about an OHM (Historical) project, rather than current OSM?

I know most of the area has already been mapped, any time someone mentions a place on the QR network I’m not familiar OSM is always my goto app to see were it is and what it is nearby. I want to harvest data in order to create a model that I can lay my tracks and structures on.

I don’t think OHM had been created at the time I was researching my family history (2007-2010) Does OHM contain data that is out of date & obsolete features? such as the stretch of rail from Ballandean to the border?

Sorry, couldn’t tell you as I don’t use it!

I’m sure somebody that does will be along shortly though.

Looks like its mapped in OHM too: OpenHistoricalMap

Many thanks, that will get me started. Looks like I have a lot to (re)learn
