Massive mapillary takeout for panoramax

they as in ???

They seem to be more above providing a place to post archival images fo history than actually mapillary alternative? I think? i’m not sure.
Someone at the OSMBE meetup made me aware of this website

Shame that they are grabbing the domain for a special purpose instance, but it is up to OSM-FR to protect its IP.

I see some Panoramix activity in Flanders, but nothing on the .fr server.
The .be server does not seem to exist yet.
Or is it all in the apk app ?

I’m now running the small Mapcomplete panoramax instance which is causing most of those tags probably.
https://panoramax.mapcomplete.org

it doesn’t allow for public uploads except through mapcomplete itself. It’s just meant for small amounts of images of objects themselves. (not the regular “full street” uploads you get on normal Panoramax instances)

Plan is to have Belgium server itself up by the end of the yaer

Yes, please
But only pictures I uploaded in 2023 or 2024 – all 2025 pictures I uploaded already to mapillary.openstreetmap.fr.

Thanks!

Quick update:
Yeah so that hasn’t happened yet. I had a bunch of work going on that I had to handle first. Still do.
But still committed to continuing the takeout and deploying the servers

@tykayn Thanks a lot. I see you also transferred pictures from 2025 - as I wrote, I had the chance to upload them myself, so now they are duplicate. To keep things simple for you, I suggest to keep the ones you uploaded on your account, and I’ll delete the ones I uploaded on my account - your ones also seem to have the better positions because I manually corrected some of them in Mapillary after upload.
Do you have a chance to also transfer the old non-360° images from my Mapillary account?

@martinrust i have transféré every thing i found on mapillary, panoramax is able to not take a picture it already has in its federated database, so the chances to have doubles of pictures is quite low. if you see something missing in particular i would love to have a look at what you found

For example the sequence of this picture Mapillary , and some other sequences. Just if it doesn’t bother you.
And, yes, there are duplicates, for example https://panoramax.openstreetmap.fr/?s=fp;s11;p19dfcb5f-0c42-4521-b56b-92b0531226ee;c72.05/0.00/30;m17/48.794924/9.697513;vt;bs#10/46.4818/11.7865 and https://panoramax.openstreetmap.fr/?s=fp;s11;p6835d611-f5d2-4395-b9dd-1c559d31a59a;c80.05/0.00/30;m17/48.794924/9.697513;vt;bs#10/46.4818/11.7865 . Probably the images are just “approximately” equal, so the duplicate detection did not work. But like I said, you’ve been a great help yet and I don’t want to bother you further, I’ll sort the duplicates out over time.

If you are still doing it, I give you my consent to export all the photos I took in Corsica; my username on Mapillary is momix; if you need them I can provide you with the exact dates for those photos (I am mostly active in Italy), just let me know.

ah yes @Martin_Rust i finally managed to add the sequence your mentionned.

@MarcoR ok, the download has started, thanks !

if anyone else wants to participate, please say so and give your Mapillary login, that’s all that is needed to send your pictures to Panoramax.

Also, if you want to setup an instance we strongly encourage anyone to do so by using the panoramax checklist and docs.

If you are still doing it, please liberate all my Mapillary contributions (username jklamo) from corporate greed. Thanks!
