Yeah - fair enough. I’m just using that as an example. I have a bunch of thoughts on this, but to not derail this thread, I’d just like to say that there are really solvable problems there that we can solve as a community instead of forcing editor developers to shoulder it.

Again, it doesn’t mean editor developers can’t improve, but we have a system design problem here, and we’re asking editors to solve it with implementations. We should do both - editors can always improve, but we should deeply examine and build a bigger community around the design of the systems and how we enforce the community norms.

@kaartjesman tried to start some discussion on this in How about limit new accounts, but the thread kept getting derailed by current vandalism instead of talking about ways to prevent it. I think ultimately it’d need an expansion of an existing working group or a new working group to bring system ideas to the table for the community to agree on, and work with OWG on what’s feasible to implement and solves real challenges in data ingestion.
