New Maproulette challenge: Bulgaria - Nodes Without Primary Tags

Hello OSM Bulgaria :bulgaria: !

A new Maproulette challenge is live: Bulgaria - Nodes Without Primary Tags - 253 tasks !

Your local knowledge would make a real difference :sparkles: .

It focuses on nodes that have a name=* tag and may also have contact details or website but are missing an actual primary tag that determine what the POI represents. Confirming the POI type and adding the correct tags (amenity, shop, leisure, tourism, office, place, etc.) significantly improves data completeness and usability.

The tasks are straightforward: verify the feature using imagery, other tag info available or reliable sources, check for duplicates, add the appropriate tags, or mark the task accordingly if the node is outdated or already fixed.

Thank you in advance for any time you can dedicate — even a few edits help strengthen the map :world_map:!

Thanks for posting, Priscilla.

I sank some time into this, and one third of all tasks are already done. This is a really simple, but meaningful challenge.

Thanks a lot for contributing :raising_hands: I’m glad to hear that this challenge is meaningful.

If anyone is up to satisfying updates and quality boost, any additional helping hands would be very welcome  !

Thank you to all the contributors :folded_hands:

95% of the tasks led to adding a primary tag, allowing POIs to now be categorized accurately!

Well, some of them I “fixed” by deleting them because I had no idea what it could be and it seemed not to be useful anyway. Others I deleted because they were duplicates of information already present on another item (a building for instance). One “can’t complete” is because amenity=towing was not recognised as a primary tag (in Bulgaria, towing is usually a separate service not connected to shop=car_repair or anything else).
