Mapping tree vegetation along rivers and streams

Hey,

I am wondering how to map the trees accompanying a stream.
Should I use “natural=tree_row”, “natural=wood” or is there a tag which could be added to the stream? (Like the sidewalk-tag for highways)

Hi,

I dont think we have a great answer to this, but tree_row has definitely been used. I’d probably prefer tree_lined=yes|both|right|left on the waterway, but the usage is not well established.

If the thickness of the vegetation is say more than 10 m then it’s probably best to map it as a narrow thin wood.
