Mapping transit “mini-high” boarding platforms

What’s the proper way to tag mini-highs at train station platforms? It has been brought to my attention that it would be helpful to mark the location of these, since not every train door has one.

I had a look at the ramp tag, but it seems to be more that there is a ramp next to stairs (of which there are none).

platform_lift felt a bit closer in intent, but also not a perfect match, because it seems to be more for standalone moving lifts rather than elevated sections of the platform. That and the mini-highs do not themselves allow for boarding without a conductor putting down a bridge plate.

Sorry, but what’s a mini-high?

It’s one of these things. It’s a raised section on a transit platform that allows wheelchair users a level place to board the train.

Thanks!

Looks like there are a few options under platform for height / wheelchair / accessible?

Another possibility could be “raised”?

I’m sure somebody a lot more knowledgable on the subject will be along shortly!

That was my thought as well. I have not seen one of those but it reminds me of the quite common bus platforms designed for wheelchair access which are tagged as

kerb=raised
kerb:approach_aid=yes

If there is no dedicated tag I would map the ramp as a separate way and the platform as raised=yes + wheelchair=designated. As the ramp is not a property of another highway object in the given case it would use highway=ramp for it.

As well as mapping the detail of how wheelchair access is implemented, you could add wheelchair=yes to the station and it’s platforms/passageways/entrances.
