I’m new to the community and very much appreciate your help.

I am looking to extract a dataset of the territory formed by Spain from a planet.osm.bz2

I only need latitude and longitude for geonames and streetnames in a specific area (Catalonia).

Is it worth downloading the whole PBF file or is there a faster way of downloading that specific required data?

I have already downloaded a csv from Geonames but I am missing lots of streets that I need.

Maybe you could download Spain file:

http://download.geofabrik.de/europe/spain.html

and then transform and filter it using tools like:
