I have tagged a lift_gate (node: 4577453610) with access=unknown, bicycle=yes, foot=yes. But routers do not route accross this gate (GraphHopper und BRouter). How should I tag it, to tell routers, that a passage is possible for bicycle+foot?
The passage is possible, no because the gate opens, but because the gate leaves a 1,2m wide passage aside.

Das das Routing noch nicht funktioniert liegt daran, dass dort bis vor 22 h noch nur access=no stand.
Bis die Router das neue Tagging berücksichtigen können einige Tage vergehen.

I’ve seen a similar problem here: Node: 5189252926 | OpenStreetMap I think the logic is that people could be hit in the head when the lift gate closes, so you can’t route them through that way.. My solution was to make sure to map a separate pedestrian was mapped.
I think if a road has a lift gate, it implies that beyond that point is private for motor vehicles. That is unless it is a public car park or similar where you just have to take the ticket to be admitted.

I have just tested the routing again; now all works as expected. As Langlaeufer said, I just had to wait a little until the router has loaded the changes.
Statt access=unknown besser motor_vehicle=no.
I’d probably go with motor_vehicle=private because presumably someone is allowed past the gate in a car
motor_vehicle=private was also my first idea, but then I saw that also forestry, destination, agricultural, designated could be possible. The gate is old and the ambient is changing for years by roadworks, maybe old legal rules were not adapted. There is still an allotment garden association, which needs access. The only clue I have is a new guidepost (not a legal traffic sign), which indicates a route for bicycles across the gate to a new temporary way (it will be there only for some years) across the roadworks.
no means that the mode of transportation is entirely illegal.
designated is a special form of yes.
destination is the NO THROUGH TRAFFIC sign. Frequently it will have the same handling in routers as private – only usable if it’s very close to the start or destination.
forestry and agricultural are special forms of private to enable consumers to route across their specific expansive areas.
permit means you need to visit a government office before travel.
