Do we want to map lawn sprinklers in public parks etc. What tags? Couldn’t find a single mention about the subject.

Certainly start with an attribute on the area first eg irrigation=sprinkler emulating how it’s done in =farmland (irrigation=pivot is the most numerous, so considering it for the system. irrigated= could be used for the extent or frequency.)
If you really want a feature, man_made= has 38 =sprinkler , and 8 =irrigation_sprinkler , THe latter might be clearer. Search results | OpenStreetMap Taginfo
