Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border/Exporting a section of a state border

Good day! I have two questions.

First, I was wondering whether the current Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border here on OpenStreetMaps reflects the 2025 border agreement. While Kyrgyzstani officials have explained the agreement in detail (for example, in this video, where Tashiev explains all the land swaps while showing maps on screen), and local media outlets have summarized the changes (as in this piece in Russian), I haven’t seen an official map released by either country. Tajikistan also announced just this week that it had completed fencing the new border of Sughd Region. Meanwhile, Google Maps remains noncommittal, displaying a red polygon that essentially indicates it does not want to take a position on the exact boundary. It seems to me that the borders here have been updated. For example, the small Tajik exclave at approximately 40.06881, 69.54577 no longer appears to be an exclave, which is consistent with the territorial exchange agreed upon in 2025. (By contrast, on Google Maps it’s still an exclave of Tajikistan). I just wanted to confirm whether the border shown here reflects the 2025 agreement.

Second, I was wondering whether there’s a way to export a portion of the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border (roughly the section between Batken Region and Sughd Region) in a format that I can import into Google Earth Pro. I’ve spent months drawing maps of watercourses in Google Earth for my own purposes, but I cannot use the state borders shown there. I’m just hoping to avoid having to manually trace the international boundary on Google Earth Pro. If a simple export is not possible, is there a way to trace the state border in Google Earth using OpenStreetMap data as a reference? Thank you!

In that case, there’s nothing that we can copy from, so I doubt the border has been updated?

Oh, & just making sure that you’re aware that we cannot use Google Maps / Earth for any purpose in OSM!

You can try if https://osm-boundaries.com works for your purpose

Indeed. Since there’s no official map, I was wondering whether the map should at least indicate the current state border in the relevant areas (which were vehemently disputed until 2025) as tentative.

Thank you, I’ll check it out!
