The point of this discussion may have flown past over my head but…
brand:wikidata will always be the only sure way to find something “globally”, by non-local names, so everything else should be local.
Let’s say in some hypothetical place it’s officially called “Kentucky Fried Chicken”, abbreviated as “KFC”, but for whatever reason people call it just “Kentucky” (“let’s go to Kentucky!”).
name=Kentucky
official_name=Kentucky Fried Chicken
short_name=KFC # or maybe `alt_name` (unnecessary if it's the same as `name`)
brand:wikidata=Q524757
What am I missing?
