JOSM issues

I am in JOSM, under download->slippy map tab and not able to navigate that map… I am trying to pan/zoom to a US geography and it doesn’t work for me. Also, tried to view bing map images and I get exception errors. Looks like it has alot of features, but unfortunately it isn’t working very well. I’d like to be able to download a chunk of data defined by bounding box, make my changes to a layer (modifications layers), then upload back. It would be really nice to be able to import/export shapefiles into this type of app, but I haven’t figured that out yet.

2 functions that should help with the slippy map: Use mouse button to change the zoom. Right-click + drag to pan around the slippy map to a new area.

I also had problems this morning getting tiles from the server. Works now (12:30 CET).

For Bing (or any other slippymap or wms imagery, for that matter), try the new Imagery plugin. It has built-in and compliant Bing Maps support, and works very well out of the box.

If you’re still on an old JOSM, you’re going to need to update.
