Should we tag ferry=yes for ferry terminals that do not provide public transport services but have fixed freight routes?Key:ferry - OpenStreetMap Wiki doesn’t seem to specify this clearly.
Also, should freight railway stations carry the train=yes tag?
This will help me research issues related to tag combinations in Fix issues with bot edits for "amenity=ferry_terminal" preset by Geo-2695 · Pull Request #2488 · openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema · GitHub.
If the port exports containerised goods to many other ports, then it is just a port.
If the port exports bulk material (oil, rock, grain, bulk chemicals) to one other port once a day, then it is just a port.
If I can go to the port and load my truck (or van, bus, car, bike, or just me) onto a ship that provides a regular scheduled service, then that is a ferry.
IMHO cargo parts without ferry service should not get ferry=yes or amenity=ferry_terminal
including regular as in “operates on demand within specific times”
