I created an OSM-based isochrone map for public transportation in Germany. It can be found here:
You can create multiple isochrone maps and then e.g. find overlaps to find a “good place to live” between e.g. two workplaces or similar.
There are also some additional map layers that might be useful, such as “transit deserts” (area with low or no public transportation services) or color-coded frequencies of public transports at all the stops.
Have fun with it! Just the server is a bit slow sometimes, and first loading of the stops can take up to 40 seconds, so be patient…
