Is there a policy regarding blocking/muting/ignoring site moderators?

Under the Your Participation Counts section on the FAQ, this text is present:

Discourse provides tools that enable the community to collectively identify the best (and worst) contributions: bookmarks, likes, flags, replies, edits, watching, muting and so forth. Use these tools to improve your own experience, and everyone else’s, too.

I would like to improve my forum experience (any everyone else’s, too, by not being baited into pointless endless conversations cluttering otherwise productive threads) and avoid wasting my time replying to what I believe is a certain user’s pattern of bad-faith, non-responsive, and antagonistic replies.[1]

I would like to set their profile to Ignored so that I “will not receive any notifications related to this user and all their content will be hidden.” However, this user is a site moderator and uses the same account both for official as-moderator and personal participation in the forum.

Is there a policy regarding blocking/muting/ignoring site moderators?

I believe that DMs that include the @moderators group as a recipient will punch through user ignores when sent by a moderator. This is the format the software expects for any official reprimands.

Also, whenever a post is hidden because you ignored the author, a “SHOW 3 HIDDEN POSTS” indicator appears in the topic. (Moderators are more likely to accidentally miss this, because it’s identical to the display of deleted posts.)

I have already set one moderator to ignore as their posts are often very long and I use mobile a lot when I’m on the forums.

I wish we didn’t have to do this in order to simply collapse posts.
