Is OSM partially down? New data isn't able to be queried on the map, and new data isn't being rendered

I am working on a post-mortem and hope to have it done in a day or 2.

Alertmanager sent multiple alerts related to the event. The event did not trigger any pager or SMS based alerts.

That question was on the tip of me tongue… is there such a system ?(doubtlessly). Yes, and it failed apparently to get the right message out.

(Fortunately there’s N number of mapping members to keep you on your toes :o))

Yes, there is a backlog ticket to improve the alerting and enable Pagerduty. The Pagerduty account exists, but requires configuration.

It is unlikely in this instance that the respond would have been better even if the alerting had been improved as the key volunteers where offline.

Hello

What is the status of this topic today (28th of october)? Using front-end apps (Organic Map and Maps.me) I just checked that edits I made in August still don’t show up (although they do in editors like iD).

Cheers,

Olivier

When third party apps choose to update their data is outside our control. As far as I know Maps.me has been more or less dead for ages now though Organic maps still has regular updates.

have you downloaded new map data?

also, maybe Organic Maps/Comaps is not showing at all what you added

best ask in a separate thread

Yes, I checked my edits on freshly downloaded data. I even just re-installed Maps.me that I had trashed months ago, just for the present purpose.

Why would OM not show my edits ?

By “thread” do you mean start a new discussion ?

yes

maybe you added POI that is currently not supported by OrganicMaps at all and is not show at all - hard to say without more specific info

maybe further edits changed things further

maybe…
