natural=shrubbery is soon to surpass 100k in usage, despite not being rendered by Carto and having its proposal rejected. It has a clear and distinct use in tagging urban shrubbery that does not fit the classification of “scrub”, “hedge”, “heath”, “grass”, etc. It is globally used, but most widespread in Europe, where such urban shrubbery installations are common. Should natural=shrubbery be considered de facto on the Wiki yet? I think yes.

Yes. Widespread support by editors and viewers as well. Clearly de facto. Update the wiki :)
I fear that it would reflect badly as I’m pushing for it to be implemented into Carto in the GitHub issue thread. It’s a conflict of interest, even if it sounds a bit silly.

I wouldn’t worry about that - Carto is spectacularly uninterested in whatever the wiki says! Changing to de facto won’t help - you’ll need stronger arguments based on actual tag usage.

If I had a pound for every time someone posted a Monty Python gif or image or quote that “shrubbery” was mentioned, I’d be a very rich man indeed
