Maybe this path Way: Cengia di Grohmann (784847056) | OpenStreetMap will illustrate the issue, see also https://youtu.be/GF-i5-_mHWM?si=tjOi9JY0AJRlElnc
I watched that video just last night, before seeing your message, since it popped up in my feed. AI is obviously having us both on radar…

I think I’ve watched one previous video from the creator, obviously the algo was getting desperate
But I wasn’t very hopeful that somebody had added the route to OSM … but they had.
As an example, the listed access defaults for the UK is wrong because legally there are no access defaults for the UK as a whole (they vary by country, and are unrelated to any OSM main tag).
maybe this could be fixed by replacing it with information by country? ![]()
Be my guest - I wrote a couple of diary entries a while back about what the defaults in England and Wales should be, but didn’t receive much feedback (positive or negative); someone would need to do the same for Scotland (broadly “right to roam” but with some caveats in the Scottish Outdoor Access Code) and Northern Ireland (seems to me similar to England and Wales, but I’m but an occasional tourist there).
We are pretty good in humouring the British, nearly as good as the Americans, but I would still point out that state level differences in legal access, particularly with respect to tracks and paths are completely normal and are common for example in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
With other words that table doesn’t make any representation to as to covering such a level of detail.
I think we’re “violently agreeing” again ![]()
it doesn’t mean trying to collect access defaults at this detail level isn’t a good idea.
A nice fit:
A bit of a loss here:
A path without refinement only about legal matters. Where is there a cul-de-sac? (It really says sac? Pun not intended.)
Recently i observed in my local filter bubble a lot of refinement regarding the “lit=*” key. On remote mountain paths and on backwoods tracks too. One of those refiners has 15 thousand edits; Around here, all about lit=*. Curiously, I did spot an error or two too.
