In Person OSM Meetups

Hello, I am new to OSM and UK. I was wondering if there are some in-person OSM meetups in London Area. Not sure if this is the right channel.

Hello,
There’s a lot of OSMers in London that like to meet up. The best site to keep an eye on his probably https://osmcal.org/ (worldwide list of OSM events).

  • OSM London usually meet in a pub about once a month for a chat. London - OpenStreetMap Wiki and is organised by @Harry_Wood

  • Missing Maps London, looks like they’ve become online-only now. It’s evening sessions of doing humanitarian OSM editing. Great group to know. Potentially some of the organisers go to the pub meets (or you could suggest it as a place to meet someone in person).

I’m a Londoner that moved away many years ago and occasionally make guest appearances. Let them know I say hi! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello @json_singh Welcome! Are you staying in the London area then?

There will be another OSMLondon meet-up which I will be putting out details for this week (for meeting up in a few weeks time)

I always put those details on the “London” wiki page, and osmcal.org, as well as tweeting https://twitter.com/OSMLondon and tooting OSMLondon (@OSMLondon@en.osm.town) - OSM Town | Mapstodon for OpenStreetMap (The mastodon account probably works as a contact channel too)

The vast majority of events are just social pub meet-ups, but I think we’ll do a note fixing mapping party some time soon too.

I definitely also recommend “geomob” London meet-ups when they happen. In fact I tend to cross-promote those on the same channels.

I missed the January “Geomob” event, I am keeping an eye on the future events.
