Importing address and other information for Nova Scotia

Good day everyone!

I’ve been chipping away at updating the map around my area, but one thing that has been bugging me is the lack of address data in the map. This has been a particular issue for me, as I use this map data when searching addresses for responding to emergencies as a volunteer firefighter.

I have found the address data for Nova Scotia, (as well as a lot of other good data that could be worth adding too), but I am not experienced with importing data into OSM, and don’t want to mess anything up.

Is there anyone that would be willing to help with this?

All the data is available here in the Nova Scotia Geographic Data Directory.

Unfortunately, the license doesn’t seem compatible because you have to idemnify them in case anybody tries to sue them

That’s too bad. Maybe I can help encourage them to update it to be compatible with OSM requirements.
