The existing “Using aerial imagery” page is broad, and I’ve always wanted a complementary shorter to-the-point iD-oriented version that I can send to a casual mapper who is looking for the bare minimum to get started. I’ve just created one. It explains picking the most up-to-date layer, aligning aerial imagery, and properly outlining buildings. It then links to the broader page for those interested in more details.
