I Have a Good Image Source - How Do I Use It?

I recently noticed some high quality imagery around where I live and inquired into using it for openstreetmap. They sent me a the following link https://lio.milwaukeecountywi.gov/arcgis/rest/services. I’ve looked around a bit but am at a loss for how to use it (or if I can) in JOSM as well as how to go about adding it to the list of approved imagery providers. Thanks for any help!

You’ll need to provide details of the copyright and database rights licence under which these are being released. It is these that will need approving.

Looking at http://city.milwaukee.gov/ImageLibrary/Groups/cityOpenData/MilwaukeeOpenDataPolicy.pdf I think clause 5(b) could be a problem, as it looks like they can retrospectively revoke permission.

Also, you need to make sure that there they are not restricted by the upstream supplier of the image.

Another thing is that the document I quotes seems ore like an internal policy document than a licence that can be relied on.

Thanks for the feedback. The policy in the link you sent is actually from the City of Milwaukee but the data is owned and provided by Milwaukee County (two separate entities.) This is their office site http://county.milwaukee.gov/mclio. I’ll send them an email and find out if they are the actual provider and what license they have setup. I’ll update later when I hear back.
