I had doubts about the translation of the StreetComplete question text (however, it seemed to be correct)

MapComplete asks if the bus stop has a “roof,”(In Japanese,屋根) but the correct meaning of the tag seems to be “waiting room.”(In Japanese,待合室)
(This question appears to be “Is there a shelter at this stop?” in the English version.)

For example, would it be acceptable to answer “yes” to a facility that only blocks rain and sunlight from above, as shown in the following street photograph(https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=35.9527909&lng=139.4741882&z=18.51037793269897&pKey=1496994595769280&x=0.42058200146278285&y=0.4981004349940202&zoom=1.4134380384155774&focus=photo )?

If the correct answer to this photo example is “no,” then it seems the Japanese translation in the MapsComplete app needs to be corrected.

Hmm…
To simplify, the question is whether a facility with “no walls and only a roof” can be called a shelter.
It seems to be the same as the “sun_shelter” with a photo in the wiki list(Key:shelter_type - OpenStreetMap Wiki ) .
Therefore, it seems correct to consider this as corresponding to the Japanese word “屋根”.

I apologize for resolving the issue myself shortly after posting.

MapComplete or StreetComplete?

This sounds more like StreetComplete.

Yes, I guess the Tag for that “question” is shelter=yes/no and so the answer yes would be correct: Key:shelter - OpenStreetMap Wiki

Yes, if someone asked me, in English, whether the bus stop in your example has a shelter, I would answer ‘yes’.

An example of a bus stop without a shelter (shelter=no) would be this: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=55.900167089639&lng=-3.2951191703454&z=17&pKey=177423664254325&focus=photo there is only a pole with a sign and markings on the street.

The name of the app was this ‘StreetComplete.’ I seemed to be too confused.

It seems that the item linked to Mapillary is correctly indicated as “Yes,” so the translation on the app side appears to be correct. On the other hand, it seems necessary to correct other places that translate this as “待合室” (such as JA:Key:shelter - OpenStreetMap Wiki).

Language note:
In Japanese, there is also the word “シェルター” (written to represent the pronunciation of ‘shelter’ in Japanese characters), but it often carries the meaning of an evacuation facility. For example, it is used in expressions like ‘nuclear shelter.’

While fixing the name of the app, I also changed the thread title to include that the translation is correct.
