How to tag this store ❓

Last week I spotted this new store at the mall

that sells Funko Pops, trading cards, merch, plushies… that kind of stuff (ok, 95% of the store is overpriced popculture/gaming merch as always with modern “video game” stores)

What’s the best way to tag it?

(two more pics grabbed from the mall’s Facebook page because it opened today)

Edit: what have I done

shop=yes

:duck: :person_running:

I recently went with shop=toys for a similar shop (blind boxes of the Labubu variety), which at least has the benefit of not being actively discouraged by osm-carto and Every Door

shop=toys

amenity=gambling ?

I think this is the best fit. There is also shop=scrap but this is a matter of personal assessment and will not get much support imo … :wink:

On further thought, Tag:shop=collector - OpenStreetMap Wiki might be an appropriate tag

So is shop=plastic_waste because that’s what these things are in the end…

Sure, but shop=scrap is an existing tag at least … :innocent: … although plastic_waste has definitivly a higher degree of refinement.

I think that most of stuff sold there is intended to be actually used? Or is bulk of purchases bought as “investment” and not actually used?

How shop promotes itself?

shop=gift would be a possible value a well. Here is an example in germany that sells merchandise from various movies, anime and games.

That’s the best answer because the OSM community is unable to reach consensus for anything…

I think I’ll pick this one; [REDACTED]
