If I ask Linguee to translate, it proposes boot bath. However, Wikipedia has no corresponding article.
198 bath:type=foot_bath, but it’s not what you mean.
Then amenity=boot_bath, even if you take your boots off!
@Duja, it’s NOT a barrier (well cat=no :-)) . you have to go through.
By the way, the description of the pool close by is… strange! Way: 90277118 | OpenStreetMap “its is not a swimming pool”
Considering the alternatives, I’m in favor of barrier=water (or a similar value, such as foot_wash) as originally tagged. It’s designed to act as a barrier (quote, A barrier is a physical structure which blocks or impedes movement.), to force bathers to wash their feet. And it’s typically small enough to map using a node rather than an area.
I browsed the Wiki category:barriers, as well as taginfo, but there’s nothing quite matching. barrier=ditch and barrier=steeplechase_jump are sort of related.
Sort of. It certainly blocks or impedes movement for wheelchairs and strollers (so it frequently has a bypass gate); as well as for bathers who fail to take off their shoes. Yes, it is there to increase hygiene, but not in an “optional” manner like a shower mounted somewhere on the side.
And I’m not saying that water is an ideal value. However, I find barrier much more fitting than an amenity or another nebulous key. The barrier=water invented by the original mapper just has this nice duck tagging flair to it.
