I’ve searched for this but haven’t found anything (probably because I’m searching from mobile).
I am adding several new charge points. This hospital seems to have almost everything mapped, even all the trees and storm drains, so someone here is an aficionado. But there are several new charge stations and many new charge points, so I wanted to add them while I was charging. Problem is, I do not know how to add the charge pricing, because it’s both a variable based on whether you’re a member of the utility, and whether you’re a member of ChargePoint itself.
So if you’re a member of the utility (CORE) AND you have a chargepoint account (not using a credit card) then the fee is either .08/kwh + .25 USD or is .15/kwh + .25 USD. If you’re not a member of CORE, but you’re a chargepoint account holder then the fee is .25/kwh + .25 USD and so on. There’s many combinations here. How should I tag this? I have this so far.
There was a topic recently dealing with names, opening hours and fees for charging stations in Germany
and the majority of participants had objections against tagging charging fees due to the problem of different fees for different users and regularly changing prices.
Just for your information - it may be different in your place.
Ah, I’d actually seen that thread and was reading over it last week but completely forgot about it relating to fees.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a price change at any of the stations I’ve ever visited in Colorado, but I do understand people not wanting this marked. How do we get this added to the wiki then? I reviewed the wiki before trying to add the pricing, but it didn’t say to not add it, it just said they were optional.
Ah good idea. The qr code does link to the charging prices for CORE, but it doesn’t list the station fee which is a separate charge. I can see why people wouldn’t want to bother with adding this info to OSM. The ChargePoint station fees are much less likely to change than the electricity fees, so is there a way to maybe do conditional just for the station fees, and then the url for the charging fees?
Charging fee tracking being highly dynamic at some chargers is enough to make the information essentially unmappable in OSM. Leave the job to the dedicated databases building on top of OSM!
