In theory abandoned:building=* could be also used, but it is generally a poor idea as disused building is still a building.
Right. Both points would seem to me to be further arguments against the value of =demolished residing in the building= key which was @vectorial8192’s proposal in the original post.
Since the demolished:-prefix is already used for completely demolished buildings, maybe a new prefix (being_demolished:?) or a new supplementary tag (being_demolished=yes?) would work better. Primarily for buildings whose demolishing lasts for a very long time, that is.
I’m not sure I agree with this. demolition:* feels like by far the most logical solution here in my mind. The alternatives I’m seeing floated in the thread feel like a solution in search of a problem.
But a prefix won’t work because it will kill the rendering which isn’t wanted because if buildings undergoing construction are rendered then those undergoing demolition definitely should be as well.
