How to mark a road closed in open street maps?

A road is being constructed for a double decker and due to this, the road will be closed for months/years. So, How can I mark the road closed in openstreetmaps?

+/- 6 months?

If less than 6 months, we don’t usually make any changes, as it takes that long for changes to trickle down to various navigational routers.

If it’s likely to be more, then mark it as access=private & also highway=construction, together with a Description to explain what is going on.
