Hello everyone!
I am using OSM for my bachelors thesis and need to use a north arrow, does anybody know how or if i can add one to the map?

Hard to say how exactly without knowing how it is being used.
Seems like this is more of a GIS question. If you’re working in QGIS, you can read this guide (you have to add the arrow in the print layout).
Using MyOSMatic at https://print.get-map.org/ you can add a compass rose, a scale and plenty of other neat options for printed maps (the attribution is at the right place, zoom level is fit to the size you specify, etc.).
The wiki has plenty other options.
