How to individually tag "bump up" or "bump down" of traffic_calming=table?

I’ve found two situations where the usual “traffic_calming=table” does not fully work:

  • Junction on top of table, but the side street does not have a “bump down”. I suppose that I could individually tag each of the two bumps (up/down), but how?
  • “Bump up” when entering a side street, but there is no bump down later on. I suppose that the solution for the first situation could be carried over.

“traffic_calming=bump” appears to be wrong. Taginfo shows a few instances of “traffic_calming=ramp”. Would that be correct?

Sounds good to me. On some places, traffic_calming=continuous_sidewalk could make sense too.

I’ve found instances where a mapper tried to tag a half table by combining “traffic_calming=table” with a “direction=forward” tag. In my opinion, this would represent a table that only covers half of the street - which is not one of the situations I have described above.

If “traffic_calming=ramp” is used, it should probably be combined with “incline=up/down” as already used for stairs.

Wouldn’t that be a redundant approach to the accepted way of tagging such sidewalks with “crossing:continuous=yes”, see Key:crossing:continuous - OpenStreetMap Wiki ?

As shown in the example of the wiki page:

The sidewalk can also get down, not necessary the road has to be raised.

Here coming from the main road it’s “flat”, the “ramp” is after the sidewalk, you could also have a table on the main road.

So, it’s not fully redundant.
