How to extract city and ghetto names from OSM

Hi,

I need a list of all available cities and ghettos of India with their corresponding latitudes and longitutes. How could I get such data from OSM?

You can go to http://help.openstreetmap.org and do a search there for key words like extract, city, place or similar.
