My property has been mis labelled on the open source map, the name of a nearby property has been added to my property and it is causing confusion with visitors and deliveries.
You can always correct errors yourself, in this case it might be better to provide a link to the error in question so that the community can check. Simply zoom to the location on openstreetmap.org and add the link from the address bar to your post.
You included a lot of unnecessary text in your post BTW.
Yes, I had thought I had closed all of that text but apparently not. Is this what you meant? The incorrect name is “The Pheasantry”
Way: The Pheasantry (1111644870) | OpenStreetMap has the name … is that simply too large (are the two groups of houses actually on separate properties?)?
Many years ago it was one large estate, one group of buildings is a stable block while the other was a gamekeepers cottage. The group of buildings that is labelled the pheasantry is incorrectly identified
The lable being over the lower “lobe” of the area is just a (technical) coincidence, can you give us a hint where to split the area? I’m assuming that the top / northern bit is correctly labelled?
No, the label is completely wrong. It should not be there at all. It refers to a woodlands on an old estate map
I’ve removed the name (you will probably need to refresh your browser cache to see the change). If you want things to work better for deliveries etc you should consider adding an address to the main building.
Thank you, the name of this property is Stable Cottage, originally it was part of the ancillary buildings serving a much bigger estate called Caer Beris situated to the south east in a loop in the river.
