Four months ago, http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/nitorelate changed a bunch of street name tags to names such as “Antonio’s Way”, “Nito Fun’day”, “Related Toni St”, “Amphibious Landing”, and the ever-popular “M”. I noticed it today, did a bit of checking to be sure that this was vandalism, and reverted. Is there anything else to do? Any way it could have been caught earlier?

The only real solution is when someone regularly monitors all changes in their region. I use the ‘history’ tab, which also currently means sorting through all ‘big’ changes that haven’t actually modified my region of interest.
