How do I tag a stolen bollard?

Hello,
this node is a bollard but has been stolen and sometimes gets replaced by the council before being stolen again, typically after ~1 day, I’m unsure whether I should remove/replace it whenever it is removed/replaced or if I should tag it in a particular way and whether or not it will prevent directions from routing through it.
Thanks.

Solution: use the tag description=* to inform people that it is often stolen for other mappers who are surveying the area.

Hi Moscovium115, welcome to our forum.

If the bollard is replaced generally within a couple of few days after haing been stolen I would not change the tagging at all. If this happens on a regular base you may add a description=* to it explaining in a few words what happens.

Hi, thank you for the reply.
The replacement can be very variable (sometimes months go by without a replacement, sometimes only days). I will add the description tag explaining the situation though.

With bollards there’s always the question about what the maxwidth for passage is, what would be the value for yours ;p))

(The next bollard they place better be fixed with a gps tracker…)

In this case you have the bollard as part of a highway=path that breaks up the highway=residential Station Road, so I think there wouldn’t be routing implications since cars won’t be routed over the path anyway.

I would tag this as a bollard with a note that it’s frequently stolen but reinstalled eventually, to help other mappers who might be surveying the area.

Without the bollard, a full car can pass through, but with the bollard in place it’s maybe 1.5 metres either side.

Thanks everyone, I’m just going to tag it with the information that it get’s frequently stolen and close this topic.
