How do I shorten a road that is connected to other roads?

Hello!
I was trying to shorten a road, but it wouldn’t let me because it was connected to other roads, so I just made another line.
How do I shorten it and a two way road in one line?
This is the line I made since I couldn’t shorten it:
Changeset: 162927418 | OpenStreetMap I hope I will get help!

Is this the road you wanted to shorten? (part of 28 Rruga 28 Nëntori, which is one way heading north).

And this is the road you added (no name, one way heading south)?

I’m not sure what you are trying to change, or what you mean by “shorten” - the existing road already seems close to a straight line.

I’m glad you responded!

What i’m trying to do is to make the way 1362823090 into one single line, what I mean is I want to delete Rruga 28 Nëntori, to add this but the map won’t allow me.

I hope you understand.

I don’t really understand - deleting an entire city street is a fairly unusual thing to do (unless it has actually disappeared in the real world). Normally if something has changed or something needs to be improved it would be done by modifying the existing data

What was the original problem you were trying to fix?

Hi Donut_Master, welcome to the forum. Deleting an existing road is not a good idea in most cases. Drawing a second road beside an existing one is also not a good attempt to improve the map. It is much better to change the existing road if there is need for a change, but the existing road looks good to me and I do not really understand what you want to change.

Probably the best way to go ahead is to contact the mapper of the existing road (donovaly) by a changeset comment or writing him a message and explain what you would like to do.

The original problem I was trying to fix was basically making the line I made to be only one line, not just two lines, but now that you explained it, I won’t mess with it.
Thanks, alan_gr and Map_HeRo!

From your comment on the changeset, I think you may be saying that part of Rruga 28 Nëntori now allows 2 way traffic.

If that is the case, it would be mapped by removing the oneway=yes tag from the relevant segment of the street. You may well need to “split” the existing way to create a segment that exactly matches the one way section. In the ID editor that can be done by selecting the point where you want to apply the split, right click, scissors icon.
