How do i add CCTV on openstreetmap?

First time using openstreetmap. Just signed up, found a new cctv and want to add it on the map but cant figure out how.

Hi and welcome. One of the simplest way to do is to use mapcomplete.org/surveillance which gives a user friendly way to edit CCTV Cameras.

You can also go to https://www.openstreetmap.org and zoom to area of interest and press edit button.

Then go through tutorial (useful anyway).

Then select “point” at top, click where cctv is and search for “cctv” in the top left, then select it.

Then select save at top right and fill menu in sidebar on left. Then press upload.

(this should be complete even if too detailed)

Thanks for the feedback.

I noticed something really suspicious, as open as openstreetmap is.

Why can i see in uBlockOrigin the domain of the local government corresponding to the country which i’m trying to edit?! Why is there a gv connection

It appears to be the source for some of the background imagery layers available at that location.

The layers are listed here:

Other things on that list include imagery sources - has your friendly local government provided imagery sources that the iD editor can use? That would explain it.
