On the other hand and to make things more “interesting” then, in my humble opinion this can be tagged as a building, while run of the mill transit shelter is not.

Shelter with a roof being a building reminds me a story of Diogenes and Socrates, where the latter stated something like “a man is a featherless biped” to which former brought a plucked chicken exclaiming “behold, a man!”
I have to admit that I used to follow by example. When I saw transit shelters tagged as building=yes I figured that this was the norm. Started adding silly things like round roof with height (they used to be like that, as was the fashion at the time). Anyways, after reading the wiki, asking on Mastodon and wondering why on lawd’s green earth are public transit shelters buildings, started removing the tag.
