How can I save a "private" point through the API

Hi folks.

So I’m doing a project in where I’m requested to use an authenticated API. I thought of an app for saving points on a map.

I looked through the documentation of the OSM API but just found calls for editing the OSM map. What I would like to do is to call the API, authenticate myself (with my osm credentials), and save a private point just for me. And then obviously call the api to get such point.

Is there a way to do so with the OSM API? Is there another API that covers this feature?

You can’t save private data in OSM. Try services like umap.openstreetmap.fr .
