hiking amenities - iron chains, ladders

Hi All,

I’m working on a hiking map for Android, based on OSM data model: routes, ways, etc.
I was surprised that having so many wonderful features, the OSM model doesn’t contain appropriate categories to mark the position of artificial hiking assistance like iron chains and ladders. At least I can’t find it.

I’ll appreciate if someone could help me find the proper category.
If there’s none appropriate, I’ll appreciate if you could point me the way to introduce new categories :slight_smile:

Thanks,
Adrian

PS.
Sample view of such iron chains and ladders can be found here:

Take a look at the Via Ferrata page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dvia_ferrata

which in turn points to

Note that most of these only have one or two thousand uses according to Taginfo.

@SK53, @alan_gr,

Thank you so much, that is exactly what I was looking for.
Open Street Map is truly amazing :slight_smile:

Take care,
Adrian
