I tend to create restrictions without any sort of guidance but the advantage is that the procedure is general for every editor. In any case, the steps are:
- First and foremost, split up the road at the intersection if it isn’t so already.
- Select all the necessary parts (start way, via node and destination way) where the restriction applies (in that case, the minor street is the start, the major road the destination and the via-node is what connects both of them)
- Create a relation using these members and select the applying relation (I recommend chosing to replicate the sign i.e. if right is forbidden, use “no right turn” but if left is mandatory, use “only left turn” instead).
- Set up the aforementioned members as
start from, via and end, respectively.
This is the basic way of adding turn restrictions in any editor basically but there are special tools for the individual editors which should make it easier (iD has one which appears if you select an intersection node).
Edit: Fixed error.
