Harlingerstraatweg, Harlingen

Hi,

See OpenStreetMap
The Kanaalweg north of the Koningsbrug is marked Harlingerstraatweg. This is wrong, it is Kanaalweg all the way.

(There is an Harlingerstraatweg in Harlingen, just not there.)

Thanks,
Bertux

Welcome to the forum!

Would you like help fixing this error yourself? If so, a brief explanation. When you edit OSM, for example in the ID web-editor (on openstreetmap.org - you need to be logged in), simply click on the section of the road and change the relevant name tag(s). Or did you make this post as a request so that others can act? If it is the latter, I would like to point you to the handy ā€œmap noteā€ feature that exists in openstreetmap.org. Even without logging in, you can make a map note and describe the map error there, so local mappers can act upon it. See the right edge of the map screen and look for the button that looks like a speech bubble. You can place these by clicking and dragging. These are preferable to forum posts, as they can easily be located and resolved by local mappers.

Fixed.
Note that I don’t think the access=no is correct.

There is a bicycle lane visible on the sat images.

And just for info: There’s also a NL forum here:

As I responded on the note, there is traffic_sign tagging on the highway (NL:C1;NL:OB05). But if that tagging is correct the interpretation is wrong. C1 means closed for all traffic in both directions (layman language) and OB05 then means only for agricultural traffic.

The current access tagging is access=no and agricultural=yes That is the is opposite meaning.

If the traffic_sign tagging is correct the acces tag can be removed and the agricultural should be no.

Possibly OB55 (ā€œuitgezonderd :tractor:ā€) was intended instead of OB05 (ā€œ:tractor:ā€), that would be a more logical combination with C1.

Hi, I trusted Google Maps but now I found it to be wrong; this is the official streetname repository of the Netherlands: BAG Viewer
Btw I tried to find my first post to delete it but could not find it anymore; feeling a bit dumb but then the interface is quite awkward.

Yep, that is an NL:OB55 (Except agricultural). So the access tags (access=no and agricultural=yes) appear to be correct but the traffic_sign is not. Based on the picture that should be traffic_sign=NL:C01;NL:OB55.

But there is a second sub sign ā€œuitgezonderd brommobielenā€ (Smal ā€˜cars’ that count largely as mopeds, microcar?) and I do not have the faintest idea how to tag that.
Duh, I should check the wiki before I write stuff. key:microcar seems to be used mainly, if not only, in the Netherlands (TagInfo)

Strangle enough the English wikipedia article for microcar (NL dwegauto) is not about brommobielen (NL brommobiel)

Edit: uitgezonderd brommobielen appears to be NL:OB65. Also the divider between sign and sub-sign should be be , instead of ; ?

So, no bicycles allowed there? Note that the side path is only for pedestrians.

Why on earth would bicycles be allowed there? Coming from the direction of Harlingen cyclists are stuck on the mandatory cycleway with no (legal) way onto that (mostly) disused road. You are misinterpreting the dashes marking the road margins for cycle lanes.

Gebruik Google Maps nooit als bron voor OpenStreetMap.
