For example a playground in iD editor has selected sport which can be done, but on the default Standard (non-editor) map, i do not see anything beside icon. Actually in this particular case i do not see even icon, just a green field, maybe due to a note added too close to place where icon would be.
On the nearby field where is a child playground, there i see that field icon (no user/mapper note is placed on that field to cover it), but still no tooltip, which would tell me it is a child playground. I know it based on iD editor.
If location/screenshot is necessary i have pasted it here for privacy reason.
You have sport=skateboard;basketball, almost no app/map can properly deal with that.
Both places are separated, draw both separately and they will appear on the map.
So in layman terms, not a place/site, but whole OpenStreetMap would need to be upgraded to support clickable POI everywhere.
And regarding missing icon of a field (playground sport=skateboard;basketball), we do not know why it is not displayed (user “trial” claimed something, but according to Mateusz, the field format used should be correct - yes, i have not used any custom format, just a GUI iD editor) or if there is a bug report for that.
As OpenStreetMap is “just” a database and the standard map layer displayed at osm.org is mainly a way to show mappers what they produced you are talking about a complete overhaul of what OSM currently thinks it is and should provide.
Right now “we” provide the database that other people use to to produce things like clickable maps
