Is this some kind of feature where a new user can do some welcome process and delete all the data on the live map???
I’d appreciate some advice on how this can work, without affecting other changes, does one have to go through the entire change set manually and check for further edits after the damage?
In this case the changes were two years ago, so yes - there will need to be a manual check that data deleted hasn’t been re-added since. I’ve created a Data Working Group ticket for it (“[Ticket#2026041110000324] changeset 150027297”) and will have a look.
From my looking around at the area, I did not see ANY POI that has been re-added since. That doesn’t mean that there are none of course. It might be more details on ways etc that has been modified.. Buy you or others with more experience probably know the best methods and tools to go at something like this.

There were a few duplicate bus stops - I merged tags where necessary.
When someone edits for the first time, iD takes them through an introduction to editing in a test location. You can go through it again at any time by selecting “help” in iD and then “Start the Walkthrough”. The test data is based on Three Rivers, Michigan, USA, but is isolated from OSM data so that iD “walkthrough” edits don’t update OSM.
Means the person is past the edits that don’t update OSM and started live editing..
Still seems weird how this is possible in iD; to do what looks like a select all POI in a bounding box and delete.
