I apologise if this has already been discussed, but, given this is a reasonably long-term closure, I propose temporarily reclassifying the Great Western Highway as a secondary road to signify that (for the time being) it is not a through route, and also reclassifying Darling Causeway and Chifley Road as trunk roads because they are now carrying through traffic. This arrangement would last until the reopening of the Great Western Highway as a through route. Before I update the actual map, I’m wondering if the community supports or opposes my idea.
How long is the closure for? For reclassification, I’d expect a multi-year closure.
“the road is expected to reopen in the second quarter of next year.”, so ~6-9 months if all goes to plan! 
I’m in Bathurst (on the ‘wrong’ side of Victoria Pass?!). I’ve heard ‘by July’ (so presumably late in the second quarter, if all goes to plan). I’d leave the classifications as they are. Darling Causeway and Chifley Road are signposted as a roadwork detour, rather than permanent signs.

speaking of, what’s going on here? another random change to highway classification
