Wanted to ask about how other mappers create their GPX traces if they’re able to get raw NMEA messages but aren’t close enough to an RTK station.
At the moment I’m relying on raw NMEA messages to create my gpx traces.
I’ve tried doing PPK but since a good chunk of my tracks are in the forest, a good chunk of my points disappear when I’m under tree coverage and only very few make it past processing.
I’ve been using the CSRS-PPP from Canada and I seem to get much better results than trying to use RTKPost with data from a nearby GNSS station that has rinex logs I can download from. Maybe this is just a skill issue with me and could never figure out the settings correctly.
I do want to get the most accurate traces as possible, would raw NMEA messages and generating a track off that be enough to suffice while under tree coverage?
Is there anything else that can be done?
How do other people work around this problem?
