Funding nearest POI for a given GPS co-ordinates

Hi Guys.

Can i use an OpenStreetMap API to find POI which are close to a given GPS co-ordinates??
Can someone help me discover how can i do so.

Hi again.
I have edited OSM with a lot of POIs (Haarbaa street in Tel-Aviv, Ibn Gvirol st., Dizingoff st.).
I still cannot get all these newest POIs using a specific API.
Can someone help me get all the clubs, pubs, restaurants, cafe in a distance if X km of a givven GPS co-ordinates?
