Focus on a marker by clicking outside the map with OpenLayers

Hello,

I am looking for a way to have a list of locations outside the map div, and once I click on the item in the list to set a marker on focus in the map.

I am using OpenLayers.

All ideas are welcome, if there is an example that would be excellent.

Here are two examples I gathered lately from the “users: Germany” forum:

  Generates the list dynamically from a kml file, zooms to marker/track with single and double click and allows filtering.
